Here are some shots from our first two days of our Around Ireland tour. We started off on June 6th--Dave took Jeffrey to the airport and then picked up the car while Laura and I finished cleaning up the apartment and packing. We left Dublin around noon and headed for Northern Irleand. Our attempt to hit Hillsbourgh Castle and the garden show were thwarted by heavy rain. We headed straight for Belfast and our first stop at the Parkview Hotel. This hotel was along the Waterworks Park--the picture with Dave and Laura and the water are from the park. We walked around town the first night--seeing City Hall and some of the murals of town. The next day we did a bus tour of the city--including the dry dock of the Titanic--pictured--and Stormont--the Northern Assembly building (the road picture is the view out from the building and the building is the wide one with the drive). We also stopped at Queen's University and the Botanic Garden
located next door. We hit Belfast Castle too. In the Gardens are nine different cats--some as sculptures, some as topiary, some in tile work, etc. The Castle serves as a location for weddings and receptions--a gorgeous place!
